Lily x Maynard past puppies:
Sooper Dooper Cooper JH
Cooper is the best! Though he was quite a rascal when he was little. He's a great hunter (duck and upland) and a great companion. My husband says that he's the best hunting dog we've ever had. His energy is unbelievable, and he loves water. He's very smart and has great instincts. The first time we took him pheasant hunting, he flushed a pheasant, then jumped up and caught it as it started to fly up in the air. I know that's not good, but it was hilarious. We all just looked at each other thinking, "What just happened?" He brought it back alive. Luckily, he's only done that once. He's also funny and very silly. I've never had a dog make me laugh the way Cooper does! And, he's great with our grandchildren and cat, even when the cat taunts him. |
King Arnold - "Arnie"
Arnie, a Lily/Mayard puppy was born 2017. He is a gorgeous, awesome and sweet dog and great hunter. He points like his mom and grandma and loves, loves, loves the water and his tennis balls. He is also available for stud. He currently lives in Colorado but is back in Minnesota often also.

"Finley"
(At 4 months udpate): We are loving Finley the same as we did Scout. He has already been hunting several times. He has retrieved ducks and peasants for me which is making me proud. He retrieved his first ducks in the water on duck opener and he was only 3.5 months old. He also has one good nose. He repeatedly has flushed more birds each trip than all of the other dogs that he has hunted with despite being so small and young. Although he did get a lot of practice on captured pigeons and wild turkeys that come to the yard. He also loves swimming just like uncle Scout. We go boating and when we anchor he likes to swim circles near the boat looking for sticks and bubbles.
(at 1 1/2 years update) Finley has been doing really well, he has progressed a lot in his hunting and obedience abilities this past year. We took him on a week long backpacking trip on the Superior Hiking Trail last fall, and he spent most of the time chasing up grouse. He has been on several more pheasant and duck-hunting trips, with him being the best dog on every trip, although we do admit we are slightly biased :) If you go with the same stud dog as Finley’s litter, I am sure you would have few disappointments if they all turn out like Finn did. Thank you so much for letting us have one of your pups again! Mark

"Odie is just fabulous, we've had four other Goldens over the years, but never had one this great as a pup. Training him so far has been a breeze, though he's a little independent, but to me that's a good thing. Can't wait to hunt with him, as I can tell he going to be awesome. P.S. It did take a little training to make him a Packer fan !!!!" -Karl
"Oliver has been the most amazing hunter I have had and so easy to train. It just comes so naturally to him, I just had to get him in the field with some birds at 4 months and he knew what to do. I took him first to a game farm and they marked the birds for me and after that, his light bulb went off and he knew his purpose. I thought at my age I might need to take him for some professional training, but it has been so easy for me and he sticks close and he also points like his mom which makes it easy for my old self and my grandkids to get ready to shoot, which is a bonus. Past Roxy/Diesel puppy owners have great things to say:
(These dogs would be siblings to Lily, the grandma of this litter)
"Cooper"
As I told you when I purchased Cooper, I'm an avid hunter and that was my primary interest in a dog. Cooper has not disappointed me!!! Cooper is an excellent hunting dog. I couldn't be more happy!
He covers ground naturally crossing back and forth. Learns quick. Never gets ahead (30 yds tops), always looking back for me. Excellent nose and excellent retriever! Listens excellent and will do anything I tell him to do. Cooper really likes pheasant hunting, but I believe that his true love is ducks and the water. (Cooper and I were out by ourselves goose hunting over water this fall and a group of about 12 Canadians came in, I dropped 3 and Cooper went out and got all three, I don't know who was more proud, me or him!). As you know this all comes with work and training, and also a lot of hunting time, which I have put in. Each of the past two years, we've spent about: 10 days in No Dak for Ducks, Geese and Pheasants, 14 days in So Dak for Duck and Pheasants, 30+ days in Mn for Ducks, Geese and Pheasants.
"Ellie"
Ellie has been the best hunter I have ever had by far. She just turned 2 and amazes me every time we hunt. Not only is she a great hunter, but she is such a wonderful family dog. We live in South Dakota so she gets alot of experience hunting pheasants. She outhunts all my buddies labs and has more energy than all of them.
"Lily"
Lily is an amazing hunter, maybe the best we've ever had. She is a natural hunter, not alot of formal training, just knows what to do. She loves, loves, loves the water and goes "scubadiving" and will dive down so her whole body is under water. She has done some amazing retreives diving down for injured ducks. She is also a great family dog, very loving, sleeps on our bed when we let her get away with it. She is very small, about 51 pounds and very strong and smart. We have done some agility training with her in the winter and she likes that also.
"Ruby"
Ruby is a delight! We don't hunt, she is just a pet but she is the most loving dog. She hugs you, lays on you and always wants to be with you. She adores our older Jack Russel terrier and mimics him. She has this wild bark when she is playing or really wants your attention. She loves to play and has the sweetest temperment. We adore her. Really wish she would stop getting our sons socks but all in all she is an awesome addition to our family.
"Penny"
We picked one of the smaller pups and the reddest. We named her Penny. She is very strong and extremely bright. She is drawn to any sweet smell, flowers, hand lotion, soap. cookies etc. We have been told she would make an excellent dog for training to help diabetics. We do not hunt, but believe she would be excellent, nothing frightens her, her energy and strength are unbelievable. She follows geese in flight and retrieves great. She thinks she should play and retrieve all day. She has not been difficult to train, and not afraid of anything. She talks back if you scold her. She is very loving and playfull. She is also the most beautiful Golden we have ever had. Her plumes are coming in multi-colored and beautiful. Her stance and teeth are perfect.
"Bella"
Bella loves to go ice fishing and can't wait for the fish to come up the hole. She will dive in after it if she see's it close enough. My husband does not do any kind of bird hunting, but Bella does love the woods. We live on 5 acres and she loves to go out into the woods and she will only go to the bathroom in the woods. She was easy to potty train and will hold it forever until someone takes her for a walk in the woods. She is a very smart dog. She loves the snow and there are still are patches of it around our house and in the woods and she just rolls in it. She loves the water, even if you run bath water she will just get in it if you don't shut the door while it is running. We keep a pool outside for her in the summer as well. We have 2 cats she loves to torment, however one of them does fight back. She loves to ride in car and hates being left home alone.
"Sawyer":
Just wanted to send a little update on our Sawyer girl at 4 months. She started her hunting career!!! We started her at the game farm at the end of August. She hunts with Milli and my dads dog Nickel who is a yellow lab and has extensive professional training. She did super!!! Tom takes her and Milli every weekend now that pheasant opener is here! They have been duck hunting too!! She "graduated" from puppy kindergarten and is now in basic obedience for her "manners". She sure is a smart girl!!! Milli and Sawyer are doing much better too!!! They will even lay on the couch together...(yes we let them on the couch. Bad I know but they are such good girls). They even play together and Sawyer holds her own!! Sawyer LOVES to snuggle!!! Our son is 7 and she likes to snuggle with him at bedtime....yes we let her on the bed too....naughty I know!!! I must say, I was very nervous at first to have 2 dogs in the house as Milli is my baby girl....but Sawyer has been AWESOME!!!!! She has adjusted so great and so have we! She really is an easy pup. Housetraining was a breeze! Thank you for all you have done for her!! A really huge thing was that she did come when called right from the start so thank you for that...that has been great! Thanks again Jill and Todd! We LOVE our pup!
"Sibley"
Sibley is a family dog, we don't hunt. She is very friendly, loves to go for walks and car rides. We have an older dog (yellow lab/golden ret) and they get along great. Sibley is good around both kids and adults. She will greet people but then go off and do her thing. She has been through puppy and basic obedience classes. She is very smart. This winter we began teaching her to ski jour, which is pulling a cross country skier with a harness and towline. She did pretty well and is learning the commands. The biggest issues we had were digging and chewing, but she seems to be growing out of that. We think she is pretty sweet!
